As you explore our website, you will notice that we have 3 playrooms to care for our children.

Firstly, we have our Baby Bumble’s Room.

We care for babies from 6 months and support their development through a wide range of holistic activities and learning opportunities. Our baby room has a ratio of 1:3 and we have a maximum of 9 babies a day. Keeping the baby capacity to a number of nine provides the babies with the attention, care and level of learning to a high standard.
To book a place for your child under 2, a minimum of 2 full days are required. Unfortunately, we do not operate half days in our baby room. This is so our babies can experience the whole day without being disrupted or distressed by seeing their fellow peers come and go.

Please find the gallery below of the range of activities and fun spent in our baby room.

As our babies turn 20 months old, the key person will begin to observe whether the child will benefit from moving into our Toddler room, or to stay the duration of the baby room to refine their skills a little further. Furthermore, if the latter is decided, our babies transition into our Toddler Room on the week of their 2nd birthday.

This brings us to our next and second playroom in the nursery.

Honeybees’ Toddler Room.

Our Honeybees’ room is filled with lots of energetic and curious toddlers, ready to learn and play with peers. With a maximum of 18 toddlers, our toddler ratio is 1:4. Toddlers are in the in between stage of being solely cared for and being independent, but as the toddler’s progress throughout their time in Toddler Room, their independence is being encouraged and developed. This links in with toilet training. Our key people will communicate with the family when they feel the child is ready to try potty training. Working together with the family, the child will begin to understand and develop their desire to use potties/toilets. As the child spends their months in our Toddler Room, they will learn their basic numbers, shapes, and colours, begin to develop friendship bonds, favourite books, and songs, as well as engaging in messy and crafty activities. Around the child’s third birthday, they make the transition into our preschool.

Please find the gallery below of the range of activities and fun spent in our toddler room.

This then brings us to our third and final playroom in the nursery.

Our Preschool – Busy bees

Our preschool is a vibrant, busy, and learning rich environment. From discovering space and light, to learning about nature and the environment, our pre-schoolers are given the resources to follow their interests. With a maximum of 18 pre-schoolers, and a ratio of 1:8, time is spent with a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activities. Upon arrival, the children self-register and listen to the plans for the day. Many discussions are held and shared between the children and adults in this moment, reflecting on past experiences or those conversations from home. Our pre-schoolers master the skill of using scissors, writing tools and begin to understand and listen to sounds of letters, in preparation for their next journey to Big School!
